I was born in a small town outside of aMissouri army base, but most of my life was spent in southeastern Wisconsin: Milwaukee, Port Washington, Madison, and Milwaukee again.

I went to college in Madison and Milwaukee, and studied mathematics, physics, art history, and architecture. My interests include hiking, caving (retired), computers, air-cooled Volkswagens and of course photography.

In 1992, a long time friend and I took my old Volkswagen beetle "Sluggo" on a two week, 5000 mile excursion to New Mexico, and we were both hooked. The following year we were back out west with his girlfriend and a Jeep Wagoneer named "Bella," which we bought just for the trip. In 1994 we returned for Sluggo's last big trip: Southern Utah from Arches to Zion. In 1995 it was "O.J.": a Moab rental Jeep. You get the picture. And we were getting mighty tired of driving 1500 miles to begin a vacation.

In 1999, my friends actually did it: they moved to Santa Fe. Two other friends moved to Colorado in the spring of 2001, leaving me crying in my Milwaukee beer. Then my favorite bar closed, the one with the perfect fish fry.....

Well, long story short, by autumn 2001 I was a resident of Cuyamungue, New Mexico. Now I live in Tesuque, New Mexico, a few miles north of Santa Fe. I've picked up genealogy and writing as new hobbies, and your feedback is always welcome.
